Pankaj Singh attempts to approach selector Roger Binny over omission
Rajasthan fast bowler Pankaj Singh, whose 39 wickets this season puts him in second place in the list of top domestic wicket-takers this time, wants an answer as to why he is being ignored by the national selectors.
Pankaj was highly instrumental in Rajasthan’s Ranji Trophy triumphs in 2011 and 2012.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, the 28-year-old paceman, after his Ranji game against Baroda in Jaipur on Thursday, walked up to the box at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium where selector Roger Binny watched the proceedings to ask the former all-rounder where he was falling short. However, Pankaj could not meet Binny as he had already left the ground.
“It was the first time I had wanted to go and talk directly to a selector. I wanted to know what are the things I should do (to get picked for the national squad), what is going wrong with me.”
