I mean business, says Harbhajan Singh
Now that Harbhajan Singh is back in the India Test team his second comeback of the season for the Australia series, the veteran offie is keen to make it count
Harbhajan was replaced by leggie Piyush Chawla in the squad for the fourth Test against England at Nagpur. Yesterday, he replaced Chawla for the first two Tests against Australia.
“I’m happy to be back. I’ll try my best to make sure I mean business. This (Irani Cup tie) was an important game. If you do well here, you get a platform to get back into the Indian team,” said Harbhajan, who has taken 16 wickets for Punjab in five Ranji Trophy ties.
In the Irani Cup, he took three wickets in the first innings and two in the second. “I’m happy with my rhythm and particularly pleased with the way I bowled to batsmen like Sachin (Tendulkar) and Wasim (Jaffer), who are very good players of spin bowling,” he said.
The offie, who is on 99 Tests, recalled his impressive series against Australia in 2001. “When I played in my first series against Australia, I was nobody. Hopefully, we’ll do well,” he said.
