Bizarre love tweets posted from Shashi Tharoor's Twitter account; minister says ID was hacked
Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Shashi Tharoor was embroiled in yet another Twitter controversy after bizarre love tweets were sent from his ID that hinted that the minister was having an affair.
On Wednesday afternoon, a set of embarrassing tweets were sent from Shashi Tharoor's Twitter account, directed at a Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar that suggested that Tharoor was having an “extra-marital affair” with Tarar. The minister, who has more than 20 lakh followers on Twitter, later clarified that his Twitter ID got reportedly hacked.
A tweet posted from Tharoor's account to Tarar said, “You unfollowed me. You don't RT me and you don't answer me on twitter. I can live with your favourites. I have your personal validation. I'm not crying any more. I'm not falling to pieces. I'm more lucid than ever. How little I knew you became visible to me @mehrtarar.”
Ms Tarar, who was equally surprised by the tweets, responded by this post "Okay. What's going on? Who's tweeting to me? I had an 'affair' with Shashi Tharoor and he's tweeting to me??? How does that work?"
Later, when Tharoor realised that his account was hacked, he immediately alerted his followers "Sorry folks, my @Twitter account has been hacked & will be temporarily deactivated. Bear with me while we solve this," Tharoor tweeted.
The tweets, however, caused his wife Sunanda Pushkar to react to them with tweets of her own.
