Caller who threatened Pooja Bhatt nabbed
A 28 year-old man who made abusive calls to the Bollywood producer on January 9 was arrested in Pune yesterday
The Bandra Police arrested a 28 year-old man from Pune for allegedly abusing and threatening Bollywood producer Pooja Bhatt on Saturday.
The accused, Ashish Suvarnakar, works at a Vodafone gallery in Pune. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Pratap Dighavakar said that during interrogation, cops found that Suvarnakar had got the mobile numbers of Pooja and her father Mahesh Bhatt from a music director who lived in his building.
Yesterday morning, Pooja tweeted: “Just got a call from Abhay Shashtry, senior inspector Bandra Police Station, confirming they have arrested man who made abusive/threatening calls to me on Jan 9.”
Mahesh, who also received a call from the same number which went answered as he was at a function in Hyderabad, asked Pooja to lodge a complaint yesterday. On Wednesday Pooja had also tweeted: “have been getting threatening/obscene calls from …..? The male voice, obviously inebriated, abused me and threatened to come over.”
