Tel: 8687552The Experimental Theatre Foundation's co-ordination committee for vulnerable children along with the United Nations' Children's Education Fund (UNICEF) will be celebrating the children's right to participation by hosting a Bal Natya Utsav 'Nai Sadi Main Nanhen Sapne' from January 18-20. About 2,000 children are expected to be part of it.
According to Manjul Bharadwaj of the Experimental Theatre Foundation, "The objective of the event is to provide a platform for children to express their needs and highlight various issues concerning them in a disciplined form. Children will themselves evolve the scripts, perform, direct themselves and assert their right to participation."
Incidentally, this is the third year the Experimental Theatre Foundation is hosting this event. "The Bal Natya Utsav was conceptualised to use theatre as a medium of change especially for the needy children to enable them to express themselves as they want," adds Bharadwaj.
